- Signs of the Times #966
- Went out early on the 7th to check out Venus rising. It was bright and easy to spot, despite the low lying, fast
moving early morning clouds. Took pix (below) and have posted all at
http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v238/radstar/? Location, Texas. Camera is a simple Kodak dx3600 without
any telephoto lens. Still got pix of Venus dead center in the photos. [and from another] To me normal is the
pattern of how things usually occur according to the pattern I have observed in the first 18 years of my continuing
life experience. The brightness and the size of this alleged Venus sure is unusual, for me at least. I´ve never seen a
morning star this bright, or this big. [and from another] I noticed it too. It is huge. At first I thought it was a plane,
thats how big it was. [and from another] I saw the Morning Star today in Miami, FL. It has gotten really bright
over the past few days. I am living in Miami Florida, and the view from here was outstanding. It has grown in size
and brightness by a lot. [and from another] This bright object - Venus (at right) - taken on Jul. 8th 2004 at 05:36
AM here in Italy. We are on DST and Sun rises just a little bit on the left of the only tall building you see in the
image. Per Skymap, at 5:36 (daylight saving time), Venus should be about 22° up and dead East. [Note: is
captured in the Texas photos where no stars make it through the clouds, and is too HIGH, rising early, in Italy.
Venus too close and off orbit.]

- The Three of the latest Sweep were accompanied by by Worldwide quakes and a Greece blackout and follow4ed by
a 12 Hour Wobble. [and from another source] A month from Games, major power blackout hits Greece [Jul 12]
http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2004-07-12 A widespread power outage hit Athens and southern Greece on
Monday, cutting off air conditioning as temperatures pushed past 104. Police were deployed to intersections in the
capital city Monday as a massive power outage caused traffic to jam around Athens. Greece's power company
would not immediately comment about the outage the biggest to hit Greece in years. The fire department received hundreds of calls
about people trapped in elevators. The blackout also created enormous traffic jams from knocked out traffic signals and stalled electric
trolleys. Hundreds of passengers on the Athens subway were taken off cars and had to walk to nearby stations.

- Huge earthquake rattles Tibet [Jul 12] http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/ An earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale rattled
through Tibet today, but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, Chinese media reported. [and from another source]
Relatively powerful earthquake jolts Mazandaran province in Iran [Jul 11] A relatively strong earthquake jolted Kelardasht region in the
western part of the northern province of Mazandaran at 18:10 hours local time (13:40 GMT) Sunday afternoon. The magnitude of the
quake and possible injuries or damages have not been reported. The tremors were felt in almost half of the country, including the capital
Tehran. [and from another source] Check out the 6.1 in Afghanistan. http://www.emsc-csem.org/cgi-bin/ALERT_all_messages.sh?1 I
wonder if the USGS will have this? Oh yea and the 5.7 in the Caspian sea. Wonder why IRIS only has two large quakes listed for 7/11 and
one is in the ocean. Does this mean these reports that were found are false, or are they not being reported by IRIS for some other reason?
They aren't listed on Full Disklosure's raw date info either? http://www.fulldisklosure.org/modules.php?name=EQ_RAW_data Nor are they
reported on the USGS worldwide reports: http://wwwneic.cr.usgs.gov/neis/bulletin/ Very strange, indeed.

- Bankruptcies likely to set another record this year [Jul 8] http://www.knoxstudio.com/shns/story.cfm? Americans are going broke as never
before: A record 1,625,208 families sought bankruptcy protection last year, and filings are up 2.7 percent so far in 2004. Put another way,
1 in 73 households declared bankruptcy in 2003, numbers that make it likely you have a neighbor, co-worker or family member who was, is
or is about to go bankrupt. [Note: things are going so well with the economy, and Bush doing so well in the polls, and even though
electronic voting machines without a paper trail might not be allowed, no need to worry about the upcoming election, right?]

- U.S. Mulling How to Delay Nov. Vote in Case of Attack [Jul 11] U.S. counterterrorism officials are looking at an emergency proposal on
the legal steps needed to postpone the November presidential election in case of an attack by al Qaeda, Newsweek reported on Sunday.
Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge warned last week that Osama bin Laden´s al Qaeda network may attack within the United States
to try to disrupt the election. The magazine cited unnamed sources who told it that the Department of Homeland Security asked the Justice
Department last week to review what legal steps would be needed to delay the election if an attack occurred on the day before or the day of
the election. The department was asked to review a letter to Ridge from DeForest Soaries, who is the chairman of the new U.S. Election
Assistance Commission, the magazine said. The commission was created in 2002 to provide funds to the states to the replace punch card
voting systems and provide other assistance in conducting federal elections. The federal government has no agency that has the statutory
authority to cancel and reschedule a federal election. Soaries wants Ridge to ask Congress to pass legislation giving the government such
power, Newsweek reported in its latest issue that hits the newsstands on Monday.

- Officials: Bin Laden Guiding Plots Against US, Ridge: Terrorists' Aim is to Influence Presidential Vote [Jul 8]
http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/07/08/ridge.alqaeda/index.html A plot to carry out a large-scale terror attack against the United States in the
near future is being directed by Osama bin Laden and other top al Qaeda members, senior intelligence officials said Thursday. Bin Laden
and his top lieutenant, Ayman al-Zawahiri, are overseeing the attack plans from their remote hideouts somewhere along the
Afghanistan-Pakistan border, according to senior intelligence officials. Arrests of terror suspects in Europe and the Middle East resulted in
the new warning, said Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge. Another senior intelligence official said authorities are concerned about
polling places being targeted during the elections, and they are trying to come up with a protection plan.

- Staffed by political appointees, and designed to negate the democratic processes such as Congress and the Courts during a crisis, FEMA
would direct ALL activities with a stroke of the Presidents pen. The hang-up is, of course, getting FEMA to give the country back, as it
becomes the de facto Executive branch, and thus a threatened leadership such as the Bush Administration would not take this route. Under
Bush, complete control approaching a dictatorship is the model desired, and thus Homeland Security, answerable only to the President as a
Cabinet position, and the Patriot Act, emerged. FEMA, not implicated in the scandals that have pummeled the Bush Administration
emerges during natural disasters, where Homeland Security does not. Homeland Security evolved as the replacement for FEMA, with all the
agencies and state and local cooperation still assigned to FEMA in an emergency now tied to Homeland Security. They are thus
competitive. Homeland Security became insecure. What will their role be? Displaced. Negated. Irrelevant. Pit bulls defend their turf, and
Homeland Security will not go down easy. As fireballs explode and thud to Earth, seen over wide ranging territory, several states or
provinces wide, and as Planet X inches closer to the Earth, heading toward the Earths orbit in its trajectory, Homeland Security has
stepped up their warnings and rhetoric. Why would terrorists seek to disrupt an election where the Bush Administration is likely to lose?
This is something they would desire, not want to prevent. [Note: new ZetaTalk: Terrorism?]

- Yesterday, Thursday [Jul 8] in El Paso, about 23:15 hrs on the western horizon at Alt 10/15°, azi 280/285° was this huge star/planet.
Skymap expects Jupiter to be at Azi 270°, the Ecliptic HIGH by 10-15° At 15:15 hrs, the sun was alt 85°, azi 190° and very bright. Skymap
expects the Sun to be at Azi 240°, Alt 73°, thus too HIGH by 12° and Earth LEAN so viewed toward the South. Sun still rising 40/45° with
much redness. Skymap expects the Sun to rise at Azi 65°, and be moving to the South after the Solstice. For this Reporter, as well as others,
it has been moving further North at dawn. [and from another source] I'm sending you two pictures of the Sun; both were taken from the
same point, my home's balcony in Rome, Italy, in the same perspective pointing to the front garden, and at the same hour: 7:23 AM. They
just have have 1 year's difference, since the first one was taken on July,7th, 2003 and the second one on July, 7th, 2004. As you can see,
there is a difference in the position of the Sun: this year the sun is lower and has yet to rise above the top of the pines in the garden. This
could be the evidence that either Earth's axis has tilted, or Earth's rotation is slowing down, or maybe both things together. I have taken
many other pictures, they all show the same difference.

- I hold a Master Captains license. I operate a bridge for (Amtrak ) on the East Coast of the United States. Yesterday I noted at 8:30 AM that
the tide had ebbed, meaning that the flow of water either way had stopped. However the flow did not restart till close to two hours later. I
did not write down the times. Today [July 9] however at 9:05 AM I wrote down the time of ebb, at 11:35 AM I noted a flow. Ebb tide does
not last this long. The ebb tide is the time between movements, high, ebb, low, ebb, high, etc. That this is occurring at all may be because
the earth is deforming, not likely since I noted the occurrence is still holding with the flow. Since the tide is controlled via the moon's
location to a position over the earth at right angles, hence either 1. the moon is slowing in orbit 2. the earth is slowing in rotation, or 3. at
the day time ebb slot, there is another mass. Since the ebb represents the point (exactly) between gravitational attraction, it is other then
astronomical observance to judge Lunar forces, ie the Sun also has an effect. However it's attractive value is much less then the Moon,
however it is noticeable to a keen observers that lives in connection to a tidal zone. I think there's a problem. I was hopping you were
wrong. [Note: the mass of Planet X pulling at the tides!]

- Bright Lights Seen in Sky Over 5 States [Jul 8] A meteor shower Wednesday night lit up
the sky from Texas to western Tennessee, prompting a flood of reports to law enforcement
officers throughout a five-state region. The lights flashed across the sky shortly after 9
p.m. in portions of Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Tennessee. A spokesman
for the Federal Aviation Administration said the spotting was a meteorite, probably
several. A spokesman for the National Weather Service in Fort Worth said the sightings
were not tied to a weather event. [and from another source] Large Meteor Seen Over
Several States [Jul 8] http://www.kltv.com/Global/story.asp? Thousands of reports
tonight across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Missouri of a big ball of fire with a tail,
flying across the northeast sky. A spokesman for the National Weather Service in Fort
Worth said the sightings were not tied to a weather event and were likely a meteor shower.
NORAD has told FEMA today was the first day of heightened meteor showers that could
last the rest of the month. [Note: NORAD and FEMA are now involved with meteor
showers? Note increase in debris traffic, in photo at right, compared to Sign #940 phot

- Washington State Disaster Plan [Jul 4] http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/West/07/08/
Washington has become the first state in the nation to secure federal approval for a
sweeping plan to prevent and handle natural disasters. The foot-thick blueprint offers state and local communities a playbook for getting
ready for disasters and finding ways to lower risks. The Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 requires state and tribal governments to plan for
potential hazards. Locke and the top Federal Emergency Management Agency representative in the region said it's no surprise that
Washington became the first to secure federal approval. After all, the state has been rocked by earthquakes, wildfires, the eruption of
Mount St. Helens in 1980 and floods that devastate low-lying communities and farmland nearly every year. FEMA regional chief John
Pennington said approval of the state plan aggressively protected its people and property.

- Sweep pattern, again close, stared with 12 Hour Wobble on July 7 then the One on July 8, followed by the Two on July 9. [Note: Sweeps
continue to be predictable, occurring in a series repeated every 8 days, often preceeded by a distinct 12 hour wobble pattern.]
