Polaris is pivot star, thus appears to remain in the same place for all locations on the globe, regardless of time viewed! Note in the Skymaps below that as the day and evening progress for this location, New York City on April 12, 2004, Polaris is always situated North at 0°, and about 30° up. The skewing of Polaris involves not only Polaris being off center and in either direction, a Polaris wobble, but the constellations at the periphery being slanted and much more askew from where they would be expected. Both should be looked at, when determining the orbit halt and tilt and lean issues.
