I was told by an astronomer who works for a large California observatory
the following "We were looking for it, then we found it, and now we're
tracking it. It comes through the solar system every few thousand
years, and pretty much tears up the Earth". Steve Havas, who sighted
Planet X at the Zeta coordinates, got a verbal admission, from someone
who is NOT an amateur but will remain unnamed likewise, that they are
aware of this inbound planet. Perhaps if Harrington had not taken suddenly
ill, when he went to New Zealand to setup to track it inbound after the
IRAS discovery in 1983, talking openly about its existence, others might
be a bit more brave!

Tombaugh discovered Pluto in 1930. Christie, of the U.S.
Naval Observatory, discovered Charon, Pluto's moon, in
1978. The characteristics of Pluto derivable from the nature
of Charon demonstrated that there must still be a large
planet undiscovered because Pluto could not be the cause of
the residuals, the "wobbles" in the orbital paths of Uranus and
Neptune clearly identifiable. The IRAS (Infrared Astronomical
Satellite), during '83 -'84, produced observations of a tenth
planet so robust that one of the astronomers on the project said
that "all that remains is to name it" - from which point the
information has become curiously guarded. In 1992 Harrington
and Van Flandern of the Naval Observatory, working with all
the information they had at hand, published their findings and
opinion that there is, indeed, a tenth planet, even calling it an
"intruder" planet. Andersen of JPL later publicly expressed
his belief that it could possibly be verified any time. The search
was narrowed to the southern skies, below the ecliptic. ... It is
interesting that Harrington dispatched an appropriate telescope
to Black Birch, New Zealand to get a visual confirmation, based
on the data leading to the expectation that it would be below the
ecliptic in the southern skies at this point in its orbit. On
Harrington's early death the scope was immediately called back -
as one observer noted, "almost before he was cold".
        Neil Freer

Robert Harrington used to be the head of the Naval Observatory, and Tom
van Flandern worked closely with Harrington at the US Naval Observatory.
Gary Neugebauer from the infamous Washington Post story is one of the
biggest names in Infrared astronomy. He completed the first infrared
survey of the sky in the 1960's. Note who is speaking in the 1983 front
page article in the Washington Post. Subsequently, "it" became a
"non-it", but not because Neugebauer was a dummy. He was told to go
along with a cover-up to delay public panic.

Washington Post, 31-Dec-1983
Mystery Heavenly Body Discovered, a front page story
A heavenly body possibly as large as the giant planet Jupiter and
possibly so close to Earth that it would be part of this solar system
has been found in the direction of the constellation Orion by an
orbiting telescope aboard the U.S. infrared astronomical satellite.
So mysterious is the object that astronomers do not know if it is a
planet, a giant comet, a nearby "protostar" that never got hot
enough to become a star, a distant galaxy so young that it is still in
the process of forming its first stars or a galaxy so shrouded in
dust that none of the light cast by its stars ever gets through.
"All I can tell you is that we don't know what it is," Dr. Gerry Neugebauer,
IRAS chief scientist for California's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and
director of the Palomar Observatory for the California Institute of
Technology said in an interview. ... The telescope aboard IRAS is
cooled so low and is so sensitive it can "see" objects in the heavens
that are only 20 degrees above absolute zero. When IRAS scientists
first saw the mystery body and calculated that it could be as close
as 50 billion miles, there was some speculation that it might be
moving toward Earth. "It's not incoming mail," Cal Tech's
Neugebauer said. "I want to douse that idea with as much cold
    water as I can."

Well I do know them. During the start of the Hale-Bopp hoopla, I asked
someone who was an engineer with NASA, "would NASA lie about
Hale-Bopp?" He said the original article that appeared in the
Newspapers about Hale-Bopp was riddled with key words that meant "do not
challenge this statement". Hubble images are not released to the
public, right off the reel. Why not? What's the big SECRET?
