The concept of the biosphere shown here, which is justifiably named a biodome because of its
shape, is that, in order to respond to the forces of extreme seismic activity and the darkened skies
of extreme volcanic activity, all the processes that would take place within the biodome would be
completely self-contained for an indefinite period of time within the most durable enclosure that
could possibly be built within the constraints of acceptable efficiency and simplicity. (see Fig. A).
